Default Anet has no idea what players want.... prime example...

http://www.guildwars.com/events/contests/halloween2007/

I know atleast 200 ppl would rather have mini Panda over Kanaxai or Vizu... only reason most ppl would want mini Kanaxai or Vizu is to trade it for Panda...

Yet....

I recommend Anet get a PR who knows what players want, desire, and adore... not base things off "well this worked before" or "well these are rarest by numbers"

Question... how do i ensure i get Honorable Mention? hahaha....

Food for thought on GW and where its going.... Unless they get a PR worth half a crap, things like this will going to continue....

I wonder if Gaile Gray even knows this giveaway is happening... from her prior lack of ingame / game knowledge....

No pleasing some is there?

Seriously, time to grow up. You can't have everything you want, even if it is just a game.

Count yourself lucky they still run things like this after the extremely poor attitude some people have.

I for one am tired of these BS posts. Don't like the way the game is going, quit.

As for Gaile, I wouldn't visit either. While everyone is free to express their opinion, the crybaby attitude of the vast majority of people is quite pathetic. I've never seen so many grown people complain about the stupidest things in my life.

Hehe, the eternal dilemna Anet faces:
A)Please Joe wammo
B)Improve the game in the correct way

A) brings more sales, therefor it wins

Sad but true, I can't blame them at all though.

hooray for haloween!

Hmm i wonder why they bolded all those letters in the announcement of the art contest....hm.

Anyway on topic: I the prices anet are giving out sound cool, i think of the mini as a bonus. I mean a signed copy of GW:EN?That's pretty spiffy

So the third prize is a mini that has absolutely nothing to do with the guild wars universe and first prize is the final boss from an elite mission.

Sounds about right to me.

Except I don't think the panda should exist at all.

poor game = poor player attitude end of story.... they r lucky to have ppl caring enough about the game to care about their events....

Can I take NEW IDEA for 400?!?
"Sorry all we have is reskinned, reissued ideas for 20...."

as for why Pandas exist ingame... i do agree with that question... "special for asia" well lets get some origionality and "special for USA" mini eagle, australia "kangaroo"... and so on....

So turn in a mediocre design and hope for an honorable mention. What a useless thing to whine about. Don't like the prizes, don't participate.

Wow, I've really been saying that a lot lately, haven't I?

So you are basing your opinion that Anet has no idea what players want because of who likes what mini pets? Is this like a joke or what?

It's a joke alright, but I don't think the OP gets the punchline.

I like how they value the Kanaxai at $150 USD. Whereas if you sold it in game you'd get upwards of 8000 ecto. Which through various means could get you over $4000 USD. I just need to find a way to win....

Personally, I fail to see your argument.

In my opinion (Yes, just mine) Kanaxai is one of the best mini pets to have.

Mini Panda's are *way* to over rated and if it was as easy to get as a mini pig, it wouldn't be (It's just an animal, like the mini pig is, cool or not.)

Plus I could use a new mouse too.

In all honesty, Anet is not required to do any of this at all, not even an event, so personally I think it's pretty neat.

What? I don't think Kanaxai has anything to do with the value of that package, Did you forget about the Mouse, the Expansion, skill pins?.. Sure, Kanaxai does have a value on Ebay, but that is not what is stated in that message, according to that message it is just an in game item, it retains no value at all. Anyone who has read A-Nets EULA would know that in game items are not to be sold, or have out-of-game value, they wouldn't support that.

I think that people on this site have reached an unrealistic state of mind, people here have lost all credibility.

Be happy they are doing a contest at all. Also, not every1 shares your opinion. Some don't care bout minis, while some don't care about a panda. Either way, if you like gw and want to get into the spirit, you may get rewarded. Be happy!

the 150 usd is prolly the mouse + GW:EN. Maybe the skill pins, but definitely not the miniature..

people have 8000 ectos?? man.

I agree with malice, all people do in this game is complain complain and complain some more. It is a no fee game. If you want really amazing stuff, go to wow and pay 12 bucks a month. Be happy with what you get, Anet doesnt even have to do this. They could just say, forget halloween altogether. Stop your whining.
